Hillary Reynolds Band
Biography

The Hillary Reynolds Band, fronted by award-winning songwriter Hillary Reynolds, is a pinnacle of innovation in today’s pop music. The powerhouse foursome makes its’ trademark sound by fusing tight vocal harmonies, the flash & polish of cutting-edge production technique, and authentic instruments for a diversity of sound unachievable in other realms. HRB are 100% Berklee College of Music alum, with diverse talents in songwriting, live performance, orchestration, and production, just to get started.

The dynamic quartet hails from all over these beautiful United States. Hillary Reynolds, from Wisconsin’s dairyland, and Jeff Hale, from rural Michigan, bring that Midwest warmth to the group. Trevor Jarvis grew up just outside Boston but somehow missed out on the accent. Benjamin Kopf, from Virginia by way of California, brings his happy-go-lucky charm.

Together since 2009, they have released two albums and a video – First Loves, Since September, and the video/single Leave No Trace, which made it to the front page of reddit.com. They have toured the nation turning heads in hundreds of places like Chicago’s Elbo Room, NYC’s The Bitter End, Sullivan Hall, Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, Boston’s The Middle East, Berklee Performance Center, Café 939, the EAA AirVenture air show in Oshkosh, and Green Bay’s Fox 11 morning show ‘Good Day Wisconsin.’ They have been blogged about by popular fantasy author Patrick Rothfuss and many personal & independent music blogs including ‘Indie Music Discovery’. Hillary Reynolds Band has performed and been featured on Wisconsin radio stations 91.1 the Ave, WWSP 90, Boston’s Berklee Internet Radio Network, and others.

The band is no stranger to a good cause. With the loss of Hillary’s mother Trina in 2011 to a long battle with breast cancer, HRB has no reservations for promoting and playing for charities. This includes the Trina Fund – a travel fund in the name of Trina Reynolds available to those with breast cancer to go seek second opinions on their diagnoses, and therefore hope.

In the words of Hillary: “I think of myself as a mirror, encouraging and challenging people to face their emotions fearlessly through music. My purpose as an artist is to trigger self-realizations woven within every song. I feel strongly about the power of music because I had a strong mother, Trina. She died this past October 2nd due to complications from necrosis stemming from stage four-breast cancer. It was going on a four-year battle. She was 49. She raised me with the gifts of self-worth and respect – gifts she had only begun to realize later in life. I chased my songwriting passions to Boston in 2007, at Berklee College of Music. I was born and raised in Appleton, WI, but Boston is where the Hillary Reynolds Band was born – by the way, that's me. Our music is sourced and channeled from a genuine spark. Our releases include an all-woman compilation album I assembled on behalf of my mother’s foundation, an EP, and now, a debut music video/single “Leave No Trace” which was released December 20th, anticipating our debut full-length album release in February. HRB is a web of unconditional love and this experience has presented countless challenges and leaps of faith over the past year that have only strengthened our force. We're goal-driven, filled with tenacity but most importantly, we intend to use HRB as a platform to advocate, create and instill the growth and change we seek in the world.”
