Screamo

Screamo is a subgenre of hardcore punk that predominantly evolved from emo, among other genres, in the early 1990s. This initially involved a more aggressive offshoot of emo music that developed in San Diego in 1991 and used short songs that grafted "intensity to willfully experimental dissonance and dynamics."
